The Alamance-Burlington School System welcomes Mr. Terrance Blackwell to Broadview Middle School. Mr. Blackwell brings over 20 years of educational experience to his new role beginning this July. He began his career in 2005 as a teacher and athletic coach at James E. Shepard IB Magnet Middle School in Durham and has since served students at both middle and high school levels, earning a reputation for student-centered leadership.
Most recently, Mr. Blackwell was a Principal Intern at Charles E. Jordan High School in Durham, North Carolina, where he led ACT/WorkKeys interventions, launched a mentoring program for at-promise students, and managed major testing logistics. He also previously taught math and coached at Jordan for six years, co-chaired the math department, and advised the Black Student Union. His earlier roles include teaching and coaching positions across several North Carolina school communities.
Mr. Blackwell holds a B.A. in Middle Grades Education from North Carolina Central University, an M.Ed. in Educational Management from Strayer University, and has recently completed his Master of School Administration from NCCU as a CCP3 North Carolina Principal Fellow.
"I’m excited to join the Broadview community and stand alongside students, staff, and families in the important work already underway," Blackwell said. "By building strong relationships and staying focused on what matters most, our students, we’ll continue pushing forward, together."
