Recognitions

Erin Millspaugh, AO Elementary School, and Cynthia O’Neal, Garrett Elementary School, were recognized as the Principal and Assistant Principals of the Year.

Superintendent

Dr. Fleming shared information with the board about student assignment and school zones. The district plans to proceed with using OREd to facilitate a new student assignment plan for elementary and middle schools. The plan is to complete the process, including community meetings and notification to any affected families, by Spring 2026. The new student assignments would be implemented during the 2026-2027 school year.

Finance

Mr. Messer presented the 2025-2026 budget resolution. This included the local budget expansion of $3,979,700, provided by the County. The total budget is $295,411,540.36. The budget resolution was approved unanimously.

Curriculum

Dr. McWherter shared a contract for Abre, a data warehouse that will create a unified data platform for staff. The software will help drive student outcomes, enhance student support systems, and help ensure data-driven decision-making across the district. Dr. McWherter shared more information about Abre and answered questions from the Board. The three-year contract totals $503,812.00. The Board of Education approved the contract unanimously.

Personnel Report

Ms. Anderson presented the personnel report for approval. The report was approved unanimously.
