Bernard Mack will step into the role of Assistant Principal at Turrentine Middle School, moving from his current position as Instructional Coach.
Mr. Mack's educational career spans multiple roles across Guilford County and Forsyth County Schools. He spent three and a half years as Assistant Principal at Parkland IB Magnet High School in Winston-Salem, where he developed expertise in supporting diverse learners and building collaborative school cultures. Before that, he taught science for nine years at Ben L. Smith High School, where he also mentored lateral entry teachers through the alternative licensure process. His work in education began as an after-school A.C.E.S. teacher at Triangle Lake Montessori Elementary School.
Mr. Mack's philosophy of leadership emphasizes culturally responsive practices, intentional planning, and a belief that rigorous academics and strong support systems must go hand in hand. His work focuses on fostering environments where students and educators alike can thrive and reach their full potential.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology with a minor in Integrated Science from Guilford College and completed his teaching license through Guilford County Schools' Alternative Certification Track. He went on to earn a Master's degree in Middle Grades–Secondary Science Education from UNC Greensboro, along with a Post-Master's Certificate in School Administration. His recent professional development includes the Assistant Principal Leadership Academy at Appalachian State University and International Baccalaureate Head of School certification.

With his background in teaching, instructional coaching, and school administration, Mr. Mack is ready to support the continued growth and success of the Turrentine Middle School community.
