The Hawfields Middle School Advanced Choir has been selected as one of two Conference Showcase Choirs across North Carolina. They scored a perfect score of 100% with their audition submission! Under the direction of Mrs. Aria Westbrook, they will perform at the Benton Convention Center in Winston-Salem today at 1 p.m. This is a huge honor for our talented students! #ABSSArts

This weekend, the Interact Clubs at Western Alamance High School and Southern Alamance High School as well as Western Alamance High School Njrotc participated in a Feed the Hunger Pack-a-Thon. Students prepared 12,120 servings that will be sent to Ukraine or Bangladesh! Amber Walsh from Southern Alamance High has been working with bees since she was seven and brought home a lot of awards in the 🐝 Bees & Honey 🍯 category at the State Fair, which included entries in color photography, crafts, baked goods, and of course, honey. She placed 1st in Muffins, Chocolate Chip Cookies, Pure Beeswax Candles, and Quick Bread. She also won the Junior Sweepstakes Award! Way to go, Amber! #StudentCenteredFutureFocused




📚 Elon Elementary welcomed many special guest readers today! Students were delighted to have Elon University athletes, ABSS Deputy Superintendent Lowell Rogers, Board Member Donna Westbrooks, and other community members visit their classes, read a picture book, and talk about their professions. Reading opens doors to new worlds and brings people together. We're grateful to everyone who took the time to visit and read with our Elon students today!









🦉 E.M. Holt Elementary School third graders partnered with the kindergarten classes for an exciting owl pellet dissection. The kindergarteners identified key details in books about owls, while the third graders taught them about the bones they found, connecting their lessons through science! This cross-curricular activity allowed both groups to apply their knowledge in an engaging, hands-on lab! #StudentCenteredFutureFocused
