Last night, the 2023 Junior Police Academy graduates were recognized at the Alamance County Commissioners meeting. This valuable program, organized by the Alamance County Sheriff's Office, Burlington Police, Mebane Police, and Graham Police Departments, provides students with skills in social development, stress management, decision-making, and conflict resolution, helping them become more engaged citizens of our #ABSSCommunity! FINAL Bomb Threat Update: Law enforcement assessed today's bomb threat email sent to ABSS and determined there to be NO credible danger. As a precaution, all schools were checked. Similar threats were sent from an out-of-state email to other NC districts. The SBI and the Alamance Co. Sheriff are investigating.
11:17 Bomb Threat Update: ABSS is following the direction of our law enforcement partners as they continue to investigate an email threat that was sent to the ABSS office. Students have been moved outside at some campuses while officers sweep the buildings as a precaution. We will continue to provide updates.
10:54 a.m. Bomb Threat Update: The SBI and local authorities are investigating a bomb threat email sent to a general ABSS account today. No specific school was mentioned. While they don’t believe it to be credible, all campuses are being searched as a precaution. We'll update as we learn more.

ABSS Alert: We are aware of multiple Facebook posts claiming a Graham High School student's alleged hospitalization due to mold, we want to clarify that this claim is untrue. We've received no official confirmation, and our administration is unaware of any such incident.
The post also references maintenance and carpentry crews, but they are at the school for thermostat adjustments and whiteboard installations, not mold-related work. Students are safe and comfortable in their designated areas.

When studying the events of September 11, 2001, teacher Ms. Betty at Broadview Middle School offered her students a personal, human view of that tragic day in addition to the historical perspective. As a resident of New York City in 2001, she shared her own experiences, bringing history vividly to life for her students. Our Board Chair Sandy Ellington-Graves was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. While this is difficult news, Sandy is approaching her treatment with incredible strength, grace, and optimism. To show our support, ABSS staff members wore pink today. Some football teams are wearing pink jerseys and Southeast Alamance painted the "50" on their field.
