October is Fire Prevention Month. Thanks to the area fire departments for taking the time to visit our schools and talk with students about fire prevention and safety. Students at Grove Park Elementary enjoyed the lessons today from Burlington FD. #ABSSCommunity

Three ABSS bands joined in the inaugural Elon University Band Day. Musicians from Southern Alamance, Western, and Williams High Schools spent the day being part of the Elon University Fire of the Carolinas.

This week students at Andrews Elementary combined math and science with an Apple Lab! They’re testing how the mass of apples left whole, in half, and sliced in eighths changes throughout the week, and graphing the changes in mass each day. #StudentCenteredFutureFocused

First graders at Alexander Wilson used marshmallows and pretzel sticks to count ones and tens. They realized that using one pretzel stick is more efficient than counting ten marshmallows. Snacks make math more fun for everyone!
