📚 Books upon books upon books! 📚 We are tremendously grateful to the Southern Alamance High School National Honor Society and Community Service Coordinator Lindsey Cook for their generous book drive for Alexander Wilson Elementary. Lindsey and all the NHS students collaborated with AWE's Media Specialist, Mrs. Quigley, to organize the donation of 249 children's books, 24 teacher books, 28 workbooks, and 10 magazines. These resources will be an invaluable addition to classroom libraries, supporting AWE teachers and students in their reading journeys! Thank you to Lindsey, the NHS student leaders, Mrs. Quigley, and all those who donated! 🙏👏 #StudentCenteredFutureFocused

Great job with the car line this morning. Here are a few updates and reminders: 1) Afterschool Club students (Good News Club, Mad Science, Book Club, etc...) will be dismissed in the "old car circle" under the awnings. This does not include Eagles Nest--they will still be dismissed from the front. 2) In the morning, please pull to the cones across from the dumpsters (not cones 1-6)-the yellow gate will be open by 7 am. 3) If you walk to AWE in the afternoon to pick up your kid(s), please wait at the "Past 1" Station. Thanks for a great first morning. If you missed our video explaining the car line, please click here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1xGNWYp7d0tcN4B_ZRsKtAu0rVJiFmIa4/view?usp=sharing

'Tis the season for snowmen! ⛄️ This morning, our Alamance Burlington Early College at ACC students came to Alexander Wilson Elementary to spread some holiday cheer. These high schoolers embraced their inner teacher as they read stories aloud and helped our younger students with their snowman crafts. Both the little listeners and the teen teachers enjoyed the festive visit!
