LATE POST: During January, 5th-grade students were collecting items to donate to Compass Health Care of Mebane as part of their service learning project. Last Friday, our 5th graders were able to visit the residents at Compass Health Care, deliver their donations, sing for them, and interview them to compare and contrast what school was like for them in the 5th grade. Yesterday was School Resource Officer Appreciation Day! We can't end the week without recognizing our awesome and valuable SRO, Sgt. Ellis. Sgt. Today, our 1st grade Lion Cub Leaders participated in the Junior Achievement "Our Families" program. They learned about how family members' jobs and businesses contribute to the well-being of the family and the community. The learning experience introduces the concept of needs and wants and explores the ways families plan for and acquire goods and services. Students analyzed their own skills to determine ways they can support their families!
