The following list is designed to be a foundation for what each student should bring to school daily. During Open House, teachers may share additional supply lists specific to the course they’re teaching.
Bookbag: A sturdy and comfortable backpack is essential for carrying textbooks, notebooks, and other supplies. Consider one with padded straps and multiple compartments for organization.
Binder System:
One or two 1-inch to 2-inch 3-ring binders: Students might prefer one larger binder for all classes or two smaller ones (e.g., one for morning classes, one for afternoon classes).
Tab dividers: These are crucial for organizing notes and handouts by subject within the binder(s).
Writing & Note-Taking:
College-ruled loose-leaf paper: Stock up on a good amount, as this is a daily necessity for notes, assignments, and in-class work.
Pens: A variety of blue or black pens for everyday writing.
Pencils: Essential for math, science, and any work where mistakes need to be erased.
Highlighters (multi-color pack): Useful for emphasizing key information in textbooks, notes, and handouts.
Organization & Study Aids:
Index cards/Notecards (3x5 or 4x6): Great for creating flashcards, quick notes, and studying.
Wired Headphones: Necessary for computer lab activities, listening to educational videos, or working independently without disturbing others. Southeast Alamance's new wireless communication policy does not allow for wireless headphones.
Optional (But Highly Recommended) Additions:
Planner or Agenda: Helps students keep track of assignments, deadlines, and extracurricular activities.
Refillable Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is important throughout the school day.
