As we prepare for the upcoming school year, here is our baseline daily supply list. (Note: During Open House, teachers may share additional course-specific lists.)
To keep morning lines moving quickly through our Opengate Weapons Detection System, students will need to remove items like binders, spiral notebooks, and laptops from their backpacks before stepping through.
Pro-Tip: Pack light! Keeping these items to a minimum makes the entry process much faster for your student.
Daily Supply Essentials
Bookbag
1 sturdy, comfortable backpack with padded straps. Easy-access compartments will help with pulling out items quickly at security.
Binder System (Limit: 1-2 Total)
1 or 2 Binders (1-inch max): Keeping binders slim makes them much easier to grab and unbag at entry. Consider using 1 binder split by subject, or 1 flexible poly-binder.
1 Pack of Tab Dividers: Keeps all subjects separated inside a single binder so you don't need to carry multiples.
Writing & Note-Taking (Keep a small supply in your bag)
Loose-Leaf Paper: Bring 1 folder or small pack of college-ruled paper daily rather than a heavy stack; replenish at home as needed.
1 Small Pencil Pouch: Store a minimal set of daily tools:
2-3 Blue or Black Pens
2-3 Pencils (for math & science)
1-2 Highlighters
Organization & Study Aids
1 Pack of Index Cards (3x5): Great for flashcards and study prep.
1 Pair of Wired Headphones: Required for computer lab work and independent learning.
Note: Per Southeast Alamance’s wireless policy, wireless headphones/earbuds are not allowed.
Optional (But Recommended)
1 Student Planner / Agenda: Great for keeping track of assignments and deadlines.
1 Refillable Water Bottle: Stay hydrated throughout the day!
By sticking to these recommended limits, students can keep their bags light and cruise through entry every morning! Go Stallions!
