Battle of the Books Lists

Battle of the Books is a competitive program sponsored by the North Carolina School Library Media Association.  Each year students form teams of six and work together to read from the list of 22 books. 

Battle of the Books is open to all Western Middle School Students. In these meetings we will discuss the books and work some practice questions.  Teams should be formed by early November.   We will have practice rounds in November and December and the school competition in January.  

There will be a Battle meeting each Wednesday morning from 7:40 - 8:05 for students who wish to participate in Battle.  If you ride a late bus, it's ok -- just come in as soon as your bus arrives.
