I love working in ABSS because I love all of the wonderful families that make our community such a great one! The connections I have made with students and their families last longer than 180 days of 1st grade! Seeing former students excel throughout the years and walk across that graduation stage is the greatest! I also love the staff at Alexander Wilson! There, we are a family. Each day, it is nice to come into school knowing you are cared for and supported! We are hiring!

What choices must a leader make? The third grade students in Ms. Martinez's class at Andrews Elementary could tell you and demonstrate through their actions. Alamance Chamber came in to capture the class brainstorming and creating their class mission statement. Each student signed their name on the mission statement poster, an important milestone in the Leader in Me program. The story will be featured in Access Alamance magazine! #StudentCenteredFutureFocused

Each day, in all our schools and classrooms, there are those "small moments" that are worth capturing. 💡The "lightbulb" moment when a student suddenly gets it, proud smiles from the teachers, and laughter in the halls. These photos capture glimpses of Southern Alamance Middle School students shining bright! ☀️ #StudentCenteredFutureFocused

We peeked into second-grade classrooms at South Graham Elementary while students were strengthening their fundamental literacy skills! This is an important time to learn phonics, phonemic awareness, vocabulary, and spelling using a structured yet interactive approach from our talented teachers. We love seeing students tackle words using their strategies! #StudentCenteredFutureFocused

ABSS Alert: We are aware of multiple Facebook posts claiming a Graham High School student's alleged hospitalization due to mold, we want to clarify that this claim is untrue. We've received no official confirmation, and our administration is unaware of any such incident. The post also references maintenance and carpentry crews, but they are at the school for thermostat adjustments and whiteboard installations, not mold-related work. Students are safe and comfortable in their designated areas. Your children's safety is our top priority, and we'll address any concerns as needed. Thanks for your understanding and support.

When studying the events of September 11, 2001, teacher Ms. Betty at Broadview Middle School offered her students a personal, human view of that tragic day in addition to the historical perspective. As a resident of New York City in 2001, she shared her own experiences, bringing history vividly to life for her students. This created a deeper understanding and connection for her students. #NeverForget

Our Board Chair Sandy Ellington-Graves was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. While this is difficult news, Sandy is approaching her treatment with incredible strength, grace, and optimism. To show our support, ABSS staff members wore pink today. Some football teams are wearing pink jerseys and Southeast Alamance painted the "50" on their field. Sandy, we are all behind you during this challenging time. Your courage inspires us. Together, we can uplift her spirits as she starts this fight. Sandy, you are not alone. Leave Sandy a message of encouragement below! 💗 #ABSSSupportsSandy
