To take learning beyond the classroom, eighth grade students at Western Middle created a "wax museum" of famous people from Spanish-speaking countries. After a month of research, they developed a speech to summarize the person's life, along with a visual representation. ABSS Virtual School senior Emily Mathews, who plays on the Eastern High Team, shoots a 6 under par 66 today in the final round of the NCHSAA State Championships to win her 3rd straight state title. She will be playing golf next year at Virginia Tech. Congratulations, Emily!

Shout out to the Swepsonville FD for visiting Alexander Wilson for Fire Safety Month. Students practiced stop, drop, and roll and crawled through the smoke house to practice how to stay safe in a fire emergency. Bonus: Mrs. Russell tried on the fire gear. 🔥 #ABSSCommunity

Which is the real Principal Davern? 🎃 As part of the Pumpkin Penny Wars at Elon Elementary, office staff surprised Mr. Davern with his like, or should we say dopplepumpkin! He loves telling students' jokes from the Joke Box, so that made the perfect prop.

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month, CTEC's Health Science and Nursing Fundamental students and staff participated in CTEC Pink Out Day. They wore pink in remembrance/honor of those who have fought breast cancer, currently fighting breast cancer, and those who have lost their battle with breast cancer. Pictured are students with Mrs. Mahaffey, one of CTEC's Health Science and Nursing teachers, who is a 1-year Breast Cancer Survivor.
