Enjoy the break with family and friends.

Today, first graders at Highland Elementary learned about the Macy's Thanksgiving Parade. We read the book "Balloons Over Broadway" that taught us about the first parade in 1924, brought to us by Tony Sarg. We then made our own balloons and paraded around the school!

It is time for Highland's annual Giving Tree! Any families that may have food, clothing, or other need requests can reach out to the School Social worker, Mr. Nienstedt, by November 30th. For those who are interested in supporting families in need, we will be creating a sign-up genius that will be sent out December 2nd. You can contact Mr. Nienstedt by calling the school and asking for the social worker, or by dialing extension 31212 when prompted.

Our 1st grade students had so much fun on their field trip to the pumpkin patch at McLaurin Farm! 🚜🎃

First graders at Highland visited McLaurin Farms in Greensboro. Students learned about pumpkins, fed barnyard animals, and took a ride in the grain train around the farm. They had hands on experiences while learning and having fun! #ABSSCommunity #StudentCenteredFutureFocused
