I am Abby Rimmer. I have been blessed to be a part-time stay-at-home mom for the past 6 years. I acquired my A.A.S. in Medical Office Administration from Alamance Community College and have 7 years of experience working as an Administrative Specialist with the UNC Chapel Hill, Pediatric Urology. Working in early childhood education has always been a goal of mine, and I am very excited to be able to begin what I hope to be a lasting career.

I’m excited to join the Sylvan community as your school counselor. I’m passionate about helping all kids feel valued and capable of success. Originally from Virginia, I’m quickly becoming a UNC fan and loving life here in North Carolina. Outside of school, I enjoy traveling, reading, and spending time with my husband and our two kids. I’m looking forward to a great year together!

Hello! I am Carol Espique, and I am excited to be back at Sylvan Elementary. I started here in 2021 and fell in love with the community and students. This year I will be split with Sylvan and Southern Middle School, which our Blue Jays feed into so I am blessed to be with these kiddos from Kindergarten to 8th grade. My husband is retired military and works at NC A&T with future Air Force leaders. We have been married for 11 years. Our son Nolan is 9 years old and loves anything yellow or Disney. He and I are Disney fans, and my husband is a good sport. We love to travel, go to concerts, and attend sporting events.

We need your help for our amazing staff at Sylvan Elementary School! We want to stock the staff lounge for our staff as they start the new school year and prepare their classrooms... also to be able to have treats for them as the school year continues! Our teachers and staff do so much for those at our school. This is just a small way you can give back to show them how much we care as a community! Let me know if you are interested in helping, or you can just drop off the supplies mentioned below at the school during the week!

Good afternoon, Blue Jay families, Our PTA Family Movie Night that was scheduled for June 6th will have to be postponed again due to the weather. We will plan to reschedule this in August as a Back to School celebration for our families! At this time we are looking at other options for tomorrow's scheduled Water Day. We will keep you posted. Good evening, Blue Jay Families! This is Mrs. Hamilton with a very special message just for our 3rd-5th grade students! Tomorrow is a big day — your End-of-Grade Reading Test! I know you’ve been working so hard all year long, and now it’s your time to shine. This is your chance to show what you know and how much you’ve learned. And let me tell you — we are so proud of you already! Remember, this test doesn’t measure your worth. It doesn’t tell the whole story of who you are. You are creative, you are kind, you are hard-working, and you are brave. This test is just one way to show what your amazing brain can do! So tonight: • Get a good night’s sleep 🌙 • Eat a healthy breakfast in the morning 🍎 • And walk into school with your head held high, ready to do your best 💪 You’ve got this. I believe in you. Your teachers believe in you. And most importantly — believe in yourself. Let’s go out there and knock it out of the park! Have a fantastic day, and remember: you are ready. You are strong.
