
Today, Superintendent Dr. Butler, Board Chair Sandy Ellington-Graves, Vice Chair Ryan Bowden, and Board Member Donna Westbrooks spent the day touring our schools and engaging with students and teachers! They participated in reading strategy lessons in elementary classrooms, checked out the new Reveal Math curriculum in action, watched students weld in the new welding program, listened to the talented orchestral performers, and even played ball in P.E. classes. It was a great opportunity for our district leaders to see firsthand the wonderful teaching and learning happening across our schools. #StudentCenteredFutureFocused

🤩 Hector is a leader who excels academically while making positive contributions to his community. Specifically, he recently volunteered at a food bank and school fair, where he helped serve meals to the homeless and assisted families looking for educational programs, all while maintaining excellent grades!
⭐ Mr. Watt is an energetic and dedicated teacher who builds strong relationships with students inside and outside the classroom through personal connections, classroom games and conversations, and coaching cross country. His constant positivity and engagement make him a beloved figure at school.


These first graders at Hillcrest Elementary are buzzing with excitement as they dive into phonics and reading! They are building confidence by exploring books about farm animals, ants, puppies, and more. Their reading skills grow each day! #StudentCenteredFutureFocused





The first graders at Alexander Wilson Elementary had a down-to-earth experience on Dirt Day! 🌱 They learned about composting, collected soil samples, tested absorption, searched for pipe cleaner worms, and even whipped up dirt desserts! ABSS student-athletes participated in the Special Olympics Bocce Ball event at Bill Cooke Park today! They were joined by middle and high school volunteers for a day of fun and connection through sports. Participants enjoyed bocce ball, cornhole, high fives, and plenty of cheers. Thank you to Alamance Parks - Adaptive & Inclusive Recreation and Special Olympics Alamance County for organizing this wonderful event for our students! Teacher representatives from each of the elementary, middle, and high schools gathered to meet with Superintendent Dr. Butler and other senior leaders. The Graham High School PTO is celebrating 1 year of community and support! Board chair Sandy Ellington-Graves has been instrumental in getting the PTO running. To honor her strength and leadership, they presented Sandy with a pink wreath to recognize Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Superintendent Dr. Butler joined the celebration and congratulated the PTO on bringing families together and making a difference for Graham students. Last night, Cummings High School hosted the annual Fields of Faith event sponsored by the Alamance, Caswell, and Chatham FCA. Student-athletes and families from across the district gathered to showcase community spirit and sportsmanship. What an amazing weekend for our talented Williams High musicians! Jayden Wilson and Aslynn West represented ABSS at the UNCG Southeast Honors Strings Festival. Under the expert direction of conductor Dr. Jungho Kim, Jayden and Aslynn joined student musicians from across the region for three days of rehearsals culminating in a concert on Sunday night. #ABSSArts


Eastlawn Elementary kicked off their Friday morning with a vibrant Cultural Parade! Students proudly displayed their family's cultural heritage, wearing traditional clothes and carrying flags from countries around the world. 🌍
The parade highlighted the diversity of Eastlawn's student body and embraced students of all backgrounds. Families turned out in large numbers to support their children and experience the rich cultural traditions on display!
