Welcome to Kindergarten
We welcome you to E.M. Holt and look forward to working with your child this year. We are looking forward to a wonderful kindergarten year with your Wildcats! Below is essential information regarding schedules and procedures.
Staggered Entry
Kindergarten students attend school on one assigned staggered entry day: Monday, August 24th, Tuesday, August 25th, or Wednesday, August 26th. Please check your postcard for your specific date.
On your assigned day, check-in is between 7:30 – 7:50 AM at the pit entrance. We will have a table set up specifically for kindergarten students. Parents are welcome to walk their child in on this day.
Students are considered tardy after 7:50 AM.
Kindergarten Meet the Teacher
Following staggered entry, our Meet the Teacher event will be held on Wednesday, August 26th from 5:00 – 6:00 PM. This is the time to meet your assigned teacher and drop off school supplies.
Thursday, August 27th
The first day for regular attendance for all kindergarten students is Thursday,Aug 27th. Arrival begins at 7:20 AM, the school day starts at 7:50 AM, and dismissal is at 2:35 PM. Please plan for your student to walk in on their own. We will have staff assisting students with getting to the classroom.
Arrival and Traffic Procedures
To ensure safety, please review the car rider traffic pattern video to understand how the line operates.
On staggered entry days, if you plan to walk your child into the building, you must still enter through the car rider line to access the parking lot.
When you check in at staggered entry we will provide you with a car tag that you will need to display at car rider pick up.
Transportation
Please complete the Kindergarten Transportation Form to notify us of your child's dismissal plan for the first day and their normal daily routine.
Bus Safety Information
Safety is our priority. For kindergarten students riding the school bus, an adult or a sibling in 4th or 5th grade MUST be present at the bus stop for drop-off.
If no authorized person is there to meet the student, they will be brought back to the school for safety.
Water Bottle,Snack and Extra Clothes
Please pack a water bottle labeled with your child’s name and a healthy snack each day.
