Wildcat Weekly Updates: Week of September 7th

Good Evening Wildcat Families,

We hope everyone enjoyed the weekend and are ready to come back for the third week of school.  Please remember that Monday is a holiday and there is no school for students.

All students should return to school on Tuesday, September 8th.  It is critical that all students are on time and present for school.

As we return for the third week of school all students should utilize the car line in the morning and practice walking in on their own.   We will have staff stationed around the school to assist students with getting to their classrooms.

Students not enrolled in the before school program can be dropped off after 7:20.   Staff will begin unloading car riders beginning at 7:20.  Please be sure your child is ready and prepared to unload in the morning.  All students should unload from the passenger side.  Students that arrive between 7:20 and 7:30 will enter at the pit entrance and wait to be dismissed to class at 7:30.  All students should be in class by 7:50.  If you enter the car line after this time you are tardy and you will need to walk your child in and sign them in.

We dismiss at 2:35 in the afternoon.  If you need to change your child’s transportation information for the day, please be sure to complete the transportation change form on the school website prior to 2pm.  If you are picking up your child in the car rider line please be sure to stay in your car and make sure you have your car rider tag displayed.  Please pull all the way up into the numbered spot when you are directed so that we can fit all six cars into the spaces.

For parents and visitors coming to have lunch please remember that outside food and drinks are not permitted in the cafeteria.  We encourage all families to complete the free and reduced lunch application.  Even if your child qualified in the past, you must complete the form each year.    You can complete the free and reduced lunch application  online at   https://www.lunchapplication.com/

You can pay your child’s lunch balance  online at https://www.k12paymentcenter.com/

As a reminder, you can find the breakfast and lunch menu at https://abss.nutrislice.com/menu/em-holt-elementary

Last Friday,we kicked off our school wide fundraiser for this year. The funds that are raised will go toward purchasing instructional materials that benefit all of our students and classrooms.  We encourage families to pay online to protect instructional time.

This week on Thursday, September 10th our third grade students will take the 3rd Grade Beginning of Grade Reading Test.

This month we are focusing on Empathy, which is understanding and feeling what others are experiencing. Our challenge for students is to ensure that everyone they interact with feels seen, heard, and valued.
