Good Afternoon Wildcat Families,
This week we kick off the PTO Candy Donation Competition to help PTO collect candy donations for the Fall Festival. They are asking for any size bag of individually wrapped candy to be used as prizes at the Fall Festival. The candy contest begins on Monday, September 21st and ends on Thursday, October 1st. The grade level with the highest weight of candy wins 10 minutes of extra recess!
Thursday, September 24th is fall picture day.
ABSS will host a virtual science fair help session on Thursday at 5pm for any 3rd, 4th or 5th grade student interested in participating in the science fair.

The PTO will hold their general PTO meeting on Thursday evening at 7pm in the media center.
This week is the last week for our school fundraiser. All fundraiser orders are due by Friday, September 25th. We will pass out superhero keychains on Friday of this week for any students that have submitted orders. We encourage you to pay online to protect instructional time. The funds raised will go toward purchasing instructional materials for all classrooms.
Now for a few general reminders:
It is critical that all students are on time and present for school. Remember if your child is out that you need to submit an absence note using the link on the school website to upload your note.
As a reminder students not enrolled in the before school program can be dropped off after 7:20 in the morning. Please make sure your child is prepared to unload in the morning and that they unload from the passenger side. All students should be in class by 7:50. If you enter the car line after this time you are tardy and you will need to walk your child in and sign them in.
If you need to change your child’s transportation information for the day, please be sure to complete the transportation change form on the school website prior to 2pm. We dismiss at 2:35 in the afternoon. If you are picking up your child in the car rider line please display your car rider tag. All car riders should be picked up by 3:10.
For parents and visitors coming to have lunch please remember that outside food and drinks are not permitted in the cafeteria. We encourage all families to complete the free and reduced lunch application. Even if your child qualified in the past, you must complete the form each year. This month we are focusing on empathy which is understanding and feeling what others are experiencing. Our challenge for students is to ensure that everyone they interact with feels seen, heard, and valued.
