Cavaliers, please read these important reminders about state testing happening this week. If you do not know your testing location, please check your Cohort Canvas announcements.

We are extremely excited to announce that on Thursday, May 14, 2026, we inducted several juniors into the Cummings High School chapter of the National Honor Society.

These young men and women were chosen based on their scholarship, leadership, character, and service. We look forward to seeing what they will do as a group during the 2026-2027 school year.

Congratulations to Le Pii Ye Boseman for earning his EMT Certification through Alamance Community College!! We are so proud of you for being Second to None!!

Due to teacher-made exams, we will operate on a No Homeroom Schedule this upcoming Thursday (5/28) and Friday (5/29). See the attached image for the schedule.

Please make sure you are in class on time both days!

Ready to start making money and building your future after graduation? Universal Forming Construction is looking for graduating seniors to join their team! They’ll be set up in the Café during all 3 lunches tomorrow to share information about exciting job opportunities in construction. Bring your best attitude and communication skills because if you make a great impression, you could even get interviewed on the spot! This could be your chance to jump straight into a career after high school and start gaining real-world experience right away.

We are excited to hold our Awards and Capping Ceremony for the Class of 2026 tomorrow morning! If you are not able to join us in person, we will *hopefully* be broadcasting live on Facebook.

Seniors and their chosen capper need to be in line in the main building by 8:15 a.m.

🎓 ABSS Graduate Gallery: Let’s hear it for Anthony (AJ) Withers! A senior at Cummings High School, AJ is ready to shift into high gear as he follows the Enrollment path to pursue his dreams in Welding and Trucking. His journey through ABSS has taken him from South Mebane Elementary to Broadview Middle, and now he's preparing to build a successful future in the skilled trades.

AJ is driven by a desire to succeed and serve as an inspiration to those around him. "I’m excited about chasing my dreams and showing others there's always a way out," he shared. Whether he’s under a welding hood or behind the wheel, AJ is focused on working hard and paving his own way.

While he’s looking forward to his career, he’s leaving Cummings with a major milestone: being crowned Prom King! 👑

Congratulations, AJ! We can’t wait to see you conquer the road ahead. 🛠️🚛

ABSS Transportation Updates
The Alamance-Burlington School System is updating its transportation software to a new platform. With the implementation of the new software, any student who would like to receive transportation to or from school during the 2026-2027 school year will need to submit their information to opt into transportation.

Use the form linked below to submit your request. If you do not complete this form before June 5, 2026, you will not be guaranteed transportation when school begins in August. No current year information will be used to populate next year’s bus riders.

CHS Summer School Update
Summer School will run June 9th - 25th from 8:30am-12pm. We will not meet on Fridays. Your student will only need to be here until they complete the courses they need to recover. No transportation or lunch will be provided. Summer School is only for students that failed a core class (math, science, social studies, or English) during the 25-26 school year. We do not offer original credit courses during Summer School. Please complete the form below to register your student.

Cavalier Teachers are enjoying all of the treats our Hospitality Committee arranged for Teacher Appreciation Week. We're incredibily grateful for all of the donations from our community supporters.

Students who currently owe a fee due to loss or damage to a Chromebook this school year need to pay their fee prior to the beginning of Teacher-Made Exams on May 28th. They can pay with exact change in the main office, or they can pay online by going to the CHS Homepage, choosing Online School Payments, then Chromebook Repair Payment. At the Chromebook Repair Payment screen, enter the student's name in the description area and the amount owed in the Price box. This needs to be added to your cart and then payment can be made via a Debit or Credit Card. For assistance with payments, please contact Kathy Beck, CHS School Treasurer.

During Monday's Board of Education Meeting, we highlighted some exceptional students who were accepted into the North Carolina Governor’s School program! As the nation’s oldest statewide summer residential program for gifted high school students, Governor’s School provides these scholars with a life-changing opportunity to dive deep into academic and artistic disciplines without the pressure of grades. It is a massive achievement, and we are so proud to have these bright minds representing our district!

Seniors: Please make sure you are prepared to return the Chromebook and charger that you were assigned at the beginning of the year after your last exam.

If you are exempt from all exams or were taking only ACC classes, please return your Chromebook when your last class is done.

Face-to-Face Parent Conferences and Science Fair

Mark your calendars as we will have our next Title I Parent Engagement opportunity on Thursday, April 30th from 4:30pm to 6pm with our Face-to-Face Parent Conferences and Science Fair. Come meet with your child’s teacher to find out what they are learning in class and what they need to work on to be successful. Also, visit our science fair to check out the amazing projects our students have been working on. We will have additional parent resources available, and food is on a first come first serve basis.
