What an incredible achievement for the Western Alamance Middle School Battle of the Books team, securing an impressive second-place finish at the Region 5 Competition! πŸ“šπŸ† Your hard work, dedication, and love of reading have paid off. These students read 20 books throughout the year and prepared by spending many hours immersed in the stories, memorizing key details. During the competition, they have to identify the books based on extremely specific questions, naming the title and author as the answer. Special thanks to Coach Paige Ysteboe, Media Specialist, for her leadership and support! #StudentCenteredFutureFocused

🌟 Congratulations to Moses and Madison for being this month's STAR Student & Staff! They were recognized at tonight's Board Meeting. 🌠 From Assistant Principal Sparks - "Moses is a hard worker and so kind to his peers. He always displays the Western way!" 🌠 From Principal Brown - "Ms. Pierce does an outstanding job modeling and showing students a variety of career paths that are available for students after high school. Just recently, Ms. Pierce visited each of the high school registration fairs to advertise all that Graham HS has to offer, in this specialty program. We appreciate her willingness to market the program and also put her EMT skills to use, whenever the need arrives." πŸ™Œ Join us in celebrating our STAR Student & Staff of the month! #StudentCenreredFutureFocused

Music to our ears! 🎢 The Western Alamance Middle School Beginning Band visited Elon Elementary and Altamahaw OssipeeElementary to put on a special performance and tell students about the benefits of music! Making music uniquely develops focus, memory, coordination, and problem-solving skills. It's a brain booster! 🧠 Although just beginning, these students are going to be making big (sound) waves!
