Good Afternoon Western Alamance Middle School families,
We are looking forward to seeing everyone at Open House on Wednesday, August 20th. 6th grade is from 4:30-5:30pm and 7th and 8th grade is from 5:30-6:30pm. Here are a few reminders and expectations for open house.
Please log in to Infinite Campus to view your student’s homeroom teacher. Upon arrival, please report to your student’s homeroom class to receive a printed schedule. Schedules will go live on August 19th on Infinite Campus. If you are unsure about Infinite Campus access, please refer to the email sent by ABSS on August, 4th 2025.
If you have any questions about transportation, lunch forms, Infinite Campus, or schedule corrections, there will be QR codes to scan in every classroom as well as in the hallways. There will also be tables set up in the cafeteria to assist.
To help us streamline transportation arrangements and reduce wait times during Open House, please complete this form if you would like to request bus service or have any transportation-related questions regarding your student.
We will not be making schedule changes this year due to the high number of students enrolled in all classes. If there is a mistake with your schedule (ex- you have 2 of the same classes) you will need to scan the schedule corrections QR code at Open House.
Car rider tags will be available in each classroom and also at the front office. This will be needed if your child will ever be a car rider. Please write the students first and last name as well as the grade level in a heavy dark color.
Please join our WAMS PTO and Athletic Boosters for the 25-26 SY.. They will be located in the cafeteria with membership services and apparel for purchase.
Pelicans Snoballs will be out front selling snow cones. A portion of proceeds will go to WAMS PTO.

First Day of School - Monday, August 25: Students may not arrive on campus before 7:55 AM. Between 7:55–8:10, students will be supervised in the gym. Homerooms will open at 8:10 AM, and all students should arrive by 8:25 am.
Student Schedules: Schedules will be available in Infinite Campus on August 19th. Copies of student schedules will also be available at our Open House and on the first day of school.
Fall Athletic Schedules: We’re excited to kick off the 2025–2026 athletic season! Below are the tryout dates and times for our fall sports:
Football (7th & 8th Grade): Begins Monday, August 11th | 5:00–7:00 PM
Cross Country (Girls & Boys): Begins Tuesday, August 26th | 3:30–5:00 PM
Boys Soccer: Begins Tuesday, August 26th | 3:30–5:30 PM
Cheerleading: Monday, August 25th & Tuesday, August 26th | 4:00–6:00 PM
Volleyball: Begins Wednesday, August 27th | 3:30–5:30 PM
To be eligible to try out for a fall sport, students must meet the following requirements:
Passed all core classes and at least one encore class during the second semester of last school year
Had no more than 13 total absences during the second semester
Have a current physical and all required forms uploaded and approved in DragonFly Max
Free and Reduced Lunch Application: Breakfast and lunch are not universally free for all students. If you would like your child to eat meals at school, you will either need to put money on their online account or you will need to secure a free/reduced lunch status by filling out the required form. Paper forms are available in the WAMS main office or you can fill it out online. Please make sure that you have been approved for free or reduced lunch or that your child has lunch money in their account.
