Good Afternoon Western Alamance Middle School families,
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! It is hard to believe that this week marks the halfway point of the first quarter! This is a great time to log into Infinite Campus and review your student’s grades and progress. If you notice any missing assignments or areas for improvement, I encourage you to have a conversation with your student to ensure they are staying on track.
7th Graders Vaccine Connect: All students enrolled in the NC Public School System and entering the 7th grade are required to receive the Tdap & Meningococcal Vaccines. If you’re not sure if your child has received the required immunizations, please contact Nurse Benson or your doctor's office. Letters have been sent home (on Friday) with students who are missing the required vaccines. If these are not received by September 23, 2025, your child will be excluded from school! If you have questions or need help with an appointment, please contact our school nurse.
7th & 8th Grade Healthful Living Parental Consent and Health Screening Consent Forms: Thank you for recently submitting the online Back to School Forms for your student. Some forms were not available to you at the time of your submission. Please complete the grade specific form(s) below for your 8th grade student.
6th Grade: Starting Monday, September 22nd 6th grade students will have the opportunity to bring their chromebooks home daily. This is a change from procedures set forth at the beginning of the year. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student's homeroom teacher.
Lunch Debt over $700 has already accrued in unpaid lunch debts. Emails and calls will go out this week.
Free and Reduced Lunch Application: Breakfast and lunch are not universally free for all students. If you would like your child to eat meals at school, you will either need to put money on their online account or you will need to secure a free/reduced lunch status by filling out the required form. Paper forms are available in the WAMS main office or you can fill it out online. Please make sure that you have been approved for free or reduced lunch or that your child has lunch money in their account.
PTO:Let's dodge, duck, and dominate in our upcoming Dodge Ball Tournament. Teams are limited to five players and one alternate. Registration fee is $30. We are looking for a sponsor for the tournament. We accept cash and Venmo. The last day to register your team is Wednesday, September 24th by 4pm. Please email westernalamancepto@gmail.com if you would like to sponsor the tournament. The proceeds from the tournament go to the purchase of a digital sign for the front of our school and books for our library.

Our first dance of the school year is coming up soon! Tickets go on sale Monday, September 22 during homeroom. Tickets are $10 and include a "glow kit" Complete with glasses, a bracelet and necklace.

Technology Insurance: We encourage everyone to purchase technology insurance. The cost is $25 and must be purchased each year. This can greatly reduce your cost if your student breaks their screen, loses a key, or breaks a port in the chromebook. Technology insurance can be purchased during the first 10 days of school and is good for one use. ABSS Mobile Learning Handbook: Please read the linked ABSS Mobile Learning Handbook. In order to receive a laptop, all students must return a signed Student/Parent Mobile Device Agreement form. That form can be printed off from the mobile learning handbook. We will also have copies of the form for students during the first week of school.
