Good afternoon Western Alamance Middle School families,
It is hard to believe that we are ending the first quarter, this week! This is a great time to log into Infinite Campus and check your child’s grades. We encourage you to have conversations with your student about any outstanding assignments that need to be completed and submitted before the grading period ends. Students should also check with their teachers to confirm the last day they can turn in any work for this grading period. All students who arrive after 8:30am must sign in at the front office.
PTO:Would you like to skip to the front of the afternoon car rider line? The car rider raffle for the second nine weeks is underway. You may drop off payment in the front office or pay via Venmo. Winners will be drawn on Friday, October 24. Tags will be sent home on Monday, October 27. We will be walking the car rider line some days as well.
The PTO is in the process of re-establishing our tax exempt status and in need of an accountant to assist with this. If you know of anyone that would donate their services either free or at a reduced rate, please reach out via email westernalamancepto@gmail.com
Fall Picture Day: Picture Day is Tuesday, October 21. When entering student information, parents should be sure to enter the student's name as it is on file with the school. To pay online, go to www.strawbridge.net. Click order picture and enter the following code: PX476830
Free and Reduced Lunch Application: Beginning Tuesday 10/7, if students have not submitted an application for this year 2025-2026, they will revert back to a full pay status.
Breakfast and lunch are not universally free for all students. If you would like your child to eat meals at school, you will either need to put money on their online account or you will need to secure a free/reduced lunch status by filling out the required form. Paper forms are available in the WAMS main office or you can fill it out online. Please make sure that you have been approved for free or reduced lunch or that your child has lunch money in their account.
Infinite Campus: As you are aware, ABSS transitioned from PowerSchool to a new student information system, Infinite Campus (IC), over the summer months. This new platform will now be used to access student schedules, grades, attendance, and more. On Monday, August 4, parents/guardians will receive a message from ABSS with instructions on how to create their Infinite Campus Parent Portal account. Please be sure to check your email to get started.
