Good afternoon Western Alamance Middle School families,
I hope you all had a restful and relaxing weekend. As we enter the final week prior to Christmas Break this is a great time to log into Infinite Campus and review your student’s grades and progress. If you notice any missing assignments or areas for improvement, I encourage you to have a conversation with your student to ensure they are staying on track. Take care to bundle up in the morning. The overnight forecast is the coldest we have seen this year.
PTO: Thank you for your continued support of the PTO. The teachers really felt the love Friday with all of the delicious soups, salads, and breadsticks. Plus duty free lunch!!
AYLA is selling Merry Messages until December 18. Students get a small gift with each message. Order forms were sent home with students last week. We also have order forms in the front office. You can pay via Venmo, check or cash. Please turn in to their homeroom teacher.
Come out and support our staff with our second annual Faculty/Staff basketball game on January 16. Admission is $5. Students can stay after school and cheer on their peers. Concessions will be for sale. All proceeds go to purchase folding chairs for our assemblies. We accept Venmo, checks, & cash. Athletic Director Appreciation Day: Monday, December 15th is Athletic Director Appreciation Day. We are excited to recognize and celebrate the dedication and hard work of our Athletic Director, Nick Coller! Coach Coller’s commitment to building a winning culture of teamwork, sportsmanship, and student centered excellence has a meaningful impact on our student-athletes, coaches, and the entire Western community. Thank you, Coach Coller, for your leadership and the countless hours you put in behind the scenes to ensure our athletic programs thrive. We are grateful for all you do to support our students both on and off the field. Please join us in showing your appreciation for Coach Coller this week!
Free and Reduced Lunch Application: Beginning Tuesday 10/7, if students have not submitted an application for this year 2025-2026, they will revert back to a full pay status.
Breakfast and lunch are not universally free for all students. If you would like your child to eat meals at school, you will either need to put money on their online account or you will need to secure a free/reduced lunch status by filling out the required form. Paper forms are available in the WAMS main office or you can fill it out online. Please make sure that you have been approved for free or reduced lunch or that your child has lunch money in their account.
Infinite Campus: As you are aware, ABSS transitioned from PowerSchool to a new student information system, Infinite Campus (IC), over the summer months. This new platform will now be used to access student schedules, grades, attendance, and more. On Monday, August 4, parents/guardians will receive a message from ABSS with instructions on how to create their Infinite Campus Parent Portal account. Please be sure to check your email to get started.
