This is your Proud Principal, Mr. Garrett, with a few important announcements for the week of May 27th, 2025.
End-of-Grade (EOG) testing will continue THIS WEEK. Please be advised of the following updates to the schedule:
EOG Testing Schedule:
Tuesday, May 27th – Science Make-up Testing
Wednesday, May 28th – 7th & 8th Grade Math
Thursday, May 29th – 7th & 8th Grade Reading
Friday, May 30th – 6th Grade Reading
Monday, June 2nd – Make-Up Day (Reading - All Grade Levels)
Tuesday, June 3rd - 6th Grade Math EOG / Make-up Day (Math - 7th/8th)
Wednesday, June 4th - 6th Grade Make-Up Day
Reminders:
Please ensure your child arrives at school on time and well-rested on testing days.
Encourage your students to stop by the cafeteria for breakfast.
Remember that if you missed last week's science test, you can still make it up.
This week in sports, all 6th and 7th grade students interested in playing football next year will have an interest meeting on Tuesday, May 27th, at 8:45 a.m. in Mr. Dements's room, room 209. Also, the Baseball vs. Softball game will be postponed due to this week's weather forecast. That game will be made up on Monday, June 2nd, 2025.
Finally, looking ahead to the last week of school, our 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony and 6th and 7th Grade End-of-Year Awards assemblies will take place on Thursday, June 5th, 2025. The 8th-grade promotion ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the doors opening at 9 a.m., the 7th-grade awards assembly will begin at 12:30 p.m., with the doors opening at Noon, and the 6th-grade awards assembly will begin at 2:30 p.m. with the doors opening at 2 p.m. All assemblies will be held in the Woodlawn Middle School Gymnasium.
