Good Evening,
This is your Proud Principal, Mr. Garrett, with a few important announcements for the week of June 2nd, 2025…our Final Week of the 2024-2025 School Year!
Parents, we have noticed an increase in early checkouts after 3:00p in the afternoon, which creates a strain on our front office staff. Unless there’s an emergency, please do not come to check your student out after 3:00 pm. Our car rider system works amazingly well, so if you need your child to be a car rider, just come through the car rider line, and we’ll be glad to accommodate you.
Our 6th grade Math EOG will take place on Tuesday, June 3rd. We will continue makeup testing on Monday for any student who missed their test for any reason, including suspensions. If your child was suspended and missed a test, please bring them in beginning on Monday to begin makeup testing this week. If you have any questions, please contact the front office.
Our Baseball and Softball teams would like you to come out and watch their battle to see who’s best on Monday, June 2nd, 2025. The first pitch is scheduled for 4:45 pm, and admission is $5 at the gate.
If your child ordered a Yearbook, we will begin distributing those on Monday. If you didn’t order a yearbook and still want to make a purchase, there are a handful left. Visit www.jostens.com/yearbooks to place your order while supplies last.
Our 8th Grade Promotion Ceremony and 6th and 7th Grade End-of-Year Awards assemblies will take place on Thursday, June 5th, 2025. The 8th-grade promotion ceremony will begin at 9:30 a.m., with the doors opening at 9 a.m., the 7th-grade awards assembly will begin at 12:30 p.m., with the doors opening at Noon, and the 6th-grade awards assembly will begin at 2:30 p.m. with the doors opening at 2 p.m. All assemblies will be held in the Woodlawn Middle School Gymnasium.
Please note that Friday, June 6th, is now a full day with regular dismissal rather than an early release. Thanks so much for your support throughout the year, and we’re looking forward to even bigger and better things happening here at Woodlawn Middle School for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year.
Well, that’s all for now. This is Mr. Garrett, signing off from the Home of the Eagles, where I always say, “We’re having fun, but we ain’t playing.” Have a great summer break!
